Somos da opinião de que ler é fundamental para o desenvolvimento do ser humano. E isso acaba fazendo de você um investidor melhor, tenha o assunto a ver com finanças ou não. Assim sendo, gostaríamos de oferecer uma indicação quinzenal da qual gostamos e achamos que seria útil.
Livro da Semana: Flow - A psicologia do alto desempenho e da felicidade
Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
Mihaly tem um nome difícil de ser pronunciado. Até por ele mesmo, dizem as más línguas. Eu, que me garanto, não errei a pronúncia. Até mesmo porque não pronunciei, simplesmente dei um copiar-colar nesse sobrenome após pesquisa no Google.
Como curiosidade, saibam que Mihaly é amigo pessoal de Martin Seligman, nada mais nada menos do que o cara que criou a psicologia positiva. Um dos dois salvou o outro de um afogamento na praia. Se não me falha a memória, Matin foi o salvador.
Não é um livro grande. Minha versão de Flow tem cerca de 140 páginas. A densidade, objetividade e clareza do autor são realmente impressionantes. Costumo marcar coisas interessantes à caneta nos livros físicos que leio - esse aí está todo rabiscado com anotações.
A proposta central do livro talvez seja o que fazer para viver uma vida mais feliz. A vida ótima segundo sua ótica é uma onde é maximizado o tempo em que passamos no estado de “flow”. Flow é um estado onde você não percebe mais que está ali naquela ação, se esquece de tudo e de todos tal é a forma com que fica absorto na atividade. Para isso transcorrer de forma harmônica é preciso que nossas habilidades encontrem perfeitamente a dificuldade requerida para a tarefa. Nada fácil demais ou difícil demais iria nos engajar de forma ideal.
Flow é um livro notável, para ser lido e depois relido algumas vezes após uns poucos anos. Há insights até mesmo sobre investimentos. Vale muito a pena!

Pluto, o bode culto
Pluto era um bode ordinário. Não no sentido de ser moralmente repreensível, muito pelo contrário. Ele era até um bode bem legal. Ordinário no sentido de normal, um bode como outro qualquer. Como qualquer outro bode, ele alivia seus movimentos peristálticos sempre que tem vontade e não é muito adepto de banhos. É uma espécie de Cascão do reino animal.
Mas Pluto era esperto. Sem dúvida, muito esperto. Um pouco entediado por não fazer nada além do que um bode faz todo dia, ele começou a reparar que seu dono volta e meia pegava um bode para colocar no meio da sala. Atento, ele sempre se postava no lugar certo e na hora certa, e começou a frequentar a sala várias e várias vezes, muito mais do que espera conseguir um bode.
Pluto gostava daquele ambiente. Mas um dia ele cansou de ficar assistindo TV aberta num aparelho de 65 polegadas que havia na sala. “TV aberta está cada vez pior”, pensou Pluto. Depois de revirar cada canto do cômodo e comer tudo o que era comestível (um pouco do que não era também), Pluto procurou o que fazer. Notou que seu dono tinha uma estante recheada de livros. Livros de todos os gostos e assuntos: filosofia, ciências, matemática, educação financeira e até mesmo alguns livros de direito versando sobre constituição que são magicamente esquecidos pelos seus autores poucos anos depois da confecção da obra.
Talvez isso fosse difícil se Pluto tivesse nascido em outro país. Mas não! Pluto era brasileiro! E no Brasil é muito comum o hábito de colocar bodes na sala, possibilitando assim que Pluto se desenvolvesse intelectualmente.
Colocar o bode na sala tem um objetivo muito simples: convencer os outros de que eram felizes e não sabiam. O bode cheira mal, toca uma zona danada e deixa as pessoas no pior estado de espírito possível! Depois, quando tudo parece que não pode piorar, não piora mesmo. Melhora. E muito, porque o autor do ato tira o bode da sala e tudo agora é alegria.
No futebol, se um jogador paparicado como Neymar se machuca durante uma Copa, a 1ª coisa que a imprensa fala é que ele não joga mais nessa Copa. Negativo! De jeito maneira! Passados apenas alguns jogos, o eterno menino volta a ser escalado e todos ficam felizes. Todos! A torcida, os narradores, o próprio menino Ney e até mesmo alguns adversários – que sabem que em dias que está mal ele não passa nenhuma bola e afunda seu time.
Na política não é diferente. Desde que o Brasil é Brasil já existe a cultura do bode. Recentemente foi declarado que o novo governo quer tributar os dividendos em 30%, por exemplo. Os investidores se arrepiam todos, até os carecas perdem fios de cabelo e pouco tempo depois é anunciado que não será 30, será 20, por exemplo. Todo mundo fica feliz! O investidor, apesar do maior desfalque no bolso, e o governo que recebe mais. Só não faz muita diferença pro menino Ney, que não paga imposto (brincandeira, Neymar. Só pra você ficar pilhado e partir para cima dos defensores na sexta-feira).
O investidor precisa filtrar tudo aquilo que ele escuta. Vale a pena fazer várias perguntas:
- Quem foi que disse?
- Por que disse?
- A quem interessa?
- Quem distorceu a mensagem?
- Será que foi a tática do bode?
Assim, o investidor inteligente aprende a não se desesperar por conta de ruído e protege melhor seus investimentos, melhor e com muito menos estresse! É assim que faz Pluto com suas aplicações, inclusive. Depois de ler Benjamin Graham e Howard Marks, Pluto está agora quase chegando no seu primeiro milhão. Parabéns, Pluto!!
